Here is a 1966 Fender Jazz bass. The neck is dated January 66 and has the original finish and decal, the body as you can see has had some professionally done modifications. This was a one owner bass, the original owner worked at the Allen Organ Co and was a technical wiz. He would take home amplifiers from Allen, build cabinets for them and build his own amplifiers.
All the work to the original body is excellent, the body looks like it was refinished long ago and is very good, the neck is stock but it has large frets (which Fender did in late 65 early 66), it does look like at least a few frets may have been replaced but again if so it's a good job. The electronics look to be original but have had two switches added. The neck is very nice and the bass plays and sounds great, it would be fairly easy to cosmetically put this bass back to a stock look, the finish looks great and has lots of finish checks, it looks original. The bass comes with the original case and bridge cover.
