What makes this guitar special: In terms of parlor-sized guitars, or acoustic guitars in general, this Huss & Dalton is top notch in just about every way. It has exceptional power and volume for such a small-bodied model -- making it surprisingly accessible to flatpickers -- yet still retains excellent dynamic for fingerstyle players as well, giving it the type of versatility few similar builds typically possess. It has a sweetly compressed bottom end that is able to employ punch into a rich midrange that never gets excessively heavy, even with its small body and mahogany construction. Its top end is remarkably crisp, yet helps retain an inherent warmth that resonates throughout its entire range. While its appointments and overall appearance may seem simple, it would be more accurate to say theyre both understated and underrated. It boasts both a bone nut and compensated bone saddle likely a big reason it has such excellent sustain for its size. Its simple vintage-style 3x3 tuning machines, rectangle rosewood bridge, and firestripe pickguard give it an air of timelessness deeply rooted in tradition, all of which complement its deep Sunburst finish. If that wasnt enough, the cuts of mahogany that were chosen for its back and sides show beautiful variegation far beyond the standard cuts used for mass-produced acoustics. Combined, all of these elements create a superb parlor-sized acoustic that can surprise players and listeners alike in the best of ways nearly every time it is played. Plus, its still in fantastic condition for a used guitar and comes with a complementary professional in-house setup so it plays as beautifully as it looks and sounds.
Cosmetic Condition: This guitar is in near mint condition. It shows only a few very light surface scratches that are mostly in the top/pickguard, but other than that, the back is very clean and overall, it appears nearly unplayed in just about every other facet.
The frets are just about untouched and show very little, if any, tangible playwear. The truss rod and tuning machines are all in perfect working order.
Body: Parlor-sized 12-fret body with solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides in a dark Sunburst finish. Single-ply cream top and back binding. Rectangle rosewood bridge with bone saddle and black bridge pins with Mother of Pearl dots.
Weight: 3 lbs 7.1 oz Neck: Soft V mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard with small pearl dot inlays. Vintage-style Kluson TK-0700 by Gotoh 3x3 tuning machines with small cream buttons. Case: Original tweed hardshell case.
