Actual Broadcast used mic by Jack Paar while he worked as on air talent at WGAR radio in Cleveland, OH. Claims he spoke over 3,500,000 words through this mic. Provenance from Joe Mayer friend and former employee of WGAR hand inscribed business card fixed under base. The Type 77-C1 microphone, which is slightly more expensive than the Type 77-B1, provides the station owner with the equivalent of three microphones in a single unit. The general construction is similar to that of the 77-B1.It can be used in all applications where a uni-directional microphone is desirable and in addition can be operated at the turn of a switch located in the base of the unit as a bi-directional velocity microphone or as a pressure operated non-directional microphone. In very good condition for its age. Only damage I see is edge chipping in the Bakelite where it meets the chrome screen. Comes with old cast iron WHAR flag fixed atop the pill.
The bases original RCA 91B mic stand made from heavy cast. Comes with a 1st edition P. JAck Paar an entertainment book. I have many microphones listed from the same collection, please see my other auctions.
