1996 Fender American Vintage Reissue 52 T elecaster s/n 22601 Date on Butt end of neck is 1996 5 DIGITS STAMPED ON BRIDGE PLATE U. 52 Vintage Telecaster 1988-present (Check neck date for specific year) Butterscotch Blonde The Reissue'52 Telecaster is one of Fender's longest running reissue models. Notable Tele Players: Keith Richards, Merle Haggard, Johnny Greenwood, James Burton, Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, Albert Lee, Robbie Hoddinot (Kingfish), Ray Flacke, Jerry Donaghue, Ed Bickert, and the rest of us.. I have always hankered after one of these because they look so beautiful. I have had this one fully set up professionally by Steve Kendall Guitars (new nut, worn frets dressed and recrowned) in order to have the bridge and nut radius match the fingerboard radius more exactly so it is properly ready for the road or studio, however I have not been able to get comfortable with the 7.5 radius which is the vintage standard.
My other Telecasters (G&L ASAT and Fender) are the more modern 9-9.5 radius which suits my lazy technique more easily. Mechanically and electronically, everything is in top notch order. You will experience single-coil buzz in certain situations, but nothing out of the ordinary - it is reasonably quiet for a Fender and I have had no problem in studio recording environments. The Electronics Modification kit has been fitted so it switches like a normal Telecaster but the original, authentic brass three section bridge has been retained. The Six Section Bridge kit is not included - it was gone when I bought the guitar.
The deep, glowing, nitrocellulose'pumpkin' finish is also much nicer than the flat, soapy finish on the later models. The only niggle is that part of the "Telecaster" decal has been rubbed off somehow - it came to me like this, but for a player this will not be a massive issue. It is genuine and I have had it checked separately by Steve Kendall and Kempster & Son in Swindon. No case candy other than the original guitar strap and of course the case itself.A printout of the original Owner's Manual is in the case. 12th Fret Bass side - 2.3mm. 12th Fret Treble side - 1.5mm. 1st Fret Bass side - 1mm. 1st Fret Treble side - 0.6mm. Neck Relief - 0.6mm. If you need to know more, please contact. This guitar has the'Present Day' circuit wiring which reinstates the middle combo position. You can see the two schemes in the Owners Manual, included in the case. You could return it to the Vintage spec if you wanted. The frets are in really good shape, you can still see the original Fender lacquer on the sides of the higher frets which shows that the original owner did not venture too far up the fingerboard! I have only played 24 hours max on this guitar. The item "Fender Telecaster American'52 Vintage Reissue 1996 Butterscotch Blonde" is in sale since Sunday, May 24, 2020.
