A show is composed of Chases which in turn are made of Steps. A step is a value for a DMX channel, a chase is a set of Step and a show is a sequence of Chases. The unit allows saving any Chase of all 6 lights with a push of a button, at any given moment.
All the Shows/Chases are saved on Permanent Memory. Up to 9 different shows can be saved/recalled at the same time. Each show has a variable number of chases; it automatically increases every time a chase is added to a show. Each of the 9 Shows has a dedicated Push-Button, avoiding nested function calls.
Each show has a user assignable Transition and Stand-by times for each of its Chases. Any of the chases can be recalled and/or edited at any time. More than one show can be run simultaneously.
If a light has chases saved on more than one active show, the lowest show number takes precedence. Several parameters such as the maximum speed in feet/sec for the Followspot or the maximum speed in Degrees/sec of the PAN/TILT features can be customized by the user. All the modifiable parameters are saved on Permanent Memory. There are 12x10mm Slider Potentiometers assignable to any DMX channel, per light. Each Light will have up to 12 assignable DMX channels to the Sliders, the Channel number, as well as the Channel Name are user-assignable.Each particular slider function changes and follows the last Active light. Whenever a Slider is moved, the DMX Channel for all the Lights that are ON and same Brand and Model is updated. All the Slider Designations are saved on Permanent Memory.
The Sliders can be custom-named in software and labeled right on the controller with a sharpie, for easy identification. There are 2x10mm dedicated Slider Potentiometers. For this reason the layout and internal configuration is optimized for Moving Heads.Having more than 6 Moving heads aiming at one spot is just too much, you'll use 2 to 4 realistically, but the maximum number of 6 was chosen. 6 lights at different DMX addresses is the first limiting factor (by design). Then available memory for all the complex stuff going on limits each light to a maximum of 20 DMX channels per light. So you can drive up to 6 Moving Heads with up to 20 DMX channels each. Now, you can get clever and do a lot more (like me). The controller is optimized for moving heads but you can control anything DMX with it. Say 4 Moving heads plus LED lights, smoke machine, Laser, etc. Each one of the 2 additional unused Lights spaces are really groups of up to 20 DMX channels each.
