Early 6 Digit Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Made in 1963, Monster Player. Here it is, a Legendary Mark VI Tenor Saxophone from 1963, serial 107, xxx. This instrument has been a players horn for most of its life. Its lacquer is wearing through in many places, and I don't see any obvious signs of relacqueing, but I've learned not to promise that it hasn't because it is notoriously difficult to tell. The pads are older, but it is set up very nicely. It is a monster player with a huge sound and a great response. A true Mark VI in that regard. Structurally, it has held up very well.
The only indication of dent repair on this instrument is a quarter sized area on the U joint. There are a couple resoldered posts as well, but no poor workmanship on those. Lots of lacquer wear and scratching, as is typical of the vintage, but It has a great used vintage look. The Neck is not serialized, meaning it probably came from the european market originally. The neck has been relacquered and shows some indications of dent repair on the sides. The action in this horn is great. It has a great sound. The case is a used protec case that fits it very well. No mouthpiece or other accessories on this instrument, giving you the freedom to select the best equipment for you.
