1983 American Fender Stratocaster Guitar -70's Ash Body with 54'sLegendary

This guitar has been played by a few great blues musicians who toured in the 80's, and has been modified to create a warm sound and effortless style of playing. This guitar has been used by a few great musicians, including Charles Baty who played in Little Charlie & The NightCats, which was later known as Rick Estrin & The Nightcats.

It was later given to Junior Watson, who used this guitar to play on tracks as a studio musician with artists like Big Mama Thorton, Geaorge Smith, Jimmy Rogers, Luther Tucker, Charlie Musselwhite, Mark Hummel, John Nemeth, Michael"Pink" Arguello, and Kim Wilson... Modifications: This guitar is a modified 1983 Fender Stratocaster (Neck) adjusted to a 1970's Fender Ash Body with reissued custom'54's Strat Pickups. Story is that Charles Baty bought, played and fell in love with the original 1970's Fender Stratocaster with Ash body. Charlie accidentally broke the neck, but he kept the body. Many years down the road he had a guitar tech (my dad) attach the body to a beautiful 1983 Fender Stratocaster.

It has played like a dream ever since, and all recordings that this guitar has been on have been played on this modified Fender Strat. Other notes: The neck is still in extremely good shape, their is almost no fret wear and the truss rod works fine. Pickups have been changed a few times over the years, but the 54's have always been the pickups of choice.

Only issue to consider: Guitar has been modified at the neck joint twice, and should not be removed more than absolutely needed. The body is from an era when 3 -bolt parts where normal for production, once Fender switched to 4-bolt neck and bodies became challenging to interchange. I have included three pictures that show the inside of the guitar, you can see the work on the neck joint.

This guitar plays perfect right now, new strings, and professionally setup for optimal playing. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you might have.
