A'66 Tele with mojo for days! This vintage classic has it all. Super smooth to play, original hardware, original electronics, and original case. Truly a guitar that is a pleasure to play.
Neck Date: 3rd April 1966. Pots: 1376628 (28th Week of 1966). The neck features a slight flame up the side, like most mid-60's Fenders. It has the original frets, original nut, and of course the sought-after Rosewood fretboard. The logo has a few chips but overall is in good condition. There has been an extra string tree added at some point. Super smooth playing and has that amazing vintage feel. The tuners were replaced at once point but reverted to the original. You can see where there were larger washers indented in the finish. The pickups and electronics seem to be original. The pots are dated 1966, but they aren't what the usual type with the curved dish. Someone has removed the second tone cap, but it is included in the case. I considered re-wiring it back to the vintage spec, but the modern wiring with just 1 tone cap is much better (in my opinion).
The hardware all has excellent wear. The body finish was stripped in 1973 and refinished as a natural clear coat. This has exposed the stunning woodgrain that you just don't see today on Fender guitars. There are several dents and impressions that I have pictured the best I can. The case is in good condition.
All the latches work, it has the original handle wrapping, the felt is intact. The exterior only has a couple of tears and scratches. What's known to be not original? The body finish, neck finish is original.
